A G A R camp fire at hall drew about one hundred veterans including a few from the other side. They shared tales of the war, sang, and enjoyed coffee with beans and hard tack. Whit Richardson outsold stories as Hickey and Hooker were praised for coffee making.
At the court house caucus for the first ward on Monday night the Republicans nominated Enos Blair for Councilman and Frank Ferguson for Assessor. G. J. Hickey was chosen to the County Central Committee. In the fourth ward O Dyarman was nominated for Councilman and Samuel Miller for Assessor with August Otto elected to the Central Committee.
A worker named Thomas Cushman at the Dickman wagon works was injured when an empty wheel burst at the Burgland and Shead pail factory Thursday. The three inch fragment struck his forehead above the eye, cutting a deep gash. Dr. Tracker deemed the injury not serious.
Pro bate Judge Bevington issued licenses this past week. Frank R. Byers wed Clara Smith, while Henry W. Ferrell married Mary Corwin.
Mrs Varnamen is on the sick list. D Brunner spent Sunday in Fort Wayne. John Kehnast left for Dakota Monday. H R Haller nursing a sprained ankle from an apple tree fall.
