In Case of Fire if you stiel smoke at night, don't rush from your bedroom to investigate. Place your palm high against the bedroom door if it's hot, don't open it. The hall outside is a deadh trap of superheated air and gas and can halt almost instantly. If the door doesn't feel hot, brace your body against the door and open it a crack, ready to shut it if there's air pressure or the draft feels hot. Get members of the family to safety quickly and don't waste time getting dressed or picking up valuables.

Deer Park council weighs bids. resident opposes apartment zoning
City bids for vehicles ranged from a quarter ton pickup at 3047.48 to a two and a half ton track at 5799.25 and a one ton pickup at 3629.93, referred for study. Pasadena council advances housing and zoning changes
The Pasadena City Council approved water and sewer extensions for Johnny Johnson’s 216 unit project on T Street and added an east side extension. Bids are due Aug 24. Councilman James L. Cook was named official delegate to the Houston Galveston Area Council. zoning requests at a workshop were partly approved or denied with several three to three votes, including disputed rezoning for Center Street and Palm Terrace areas.

School Board approves 8.88 million budget for 1971 72
