Services for Verna Eileen Jent 45 of Pasadena were Feb 17 at St Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev Glenn Warden officiating. She died Feb 14 in Pasadena. Survivors include husband Homer J Jent two sons John Anthony Jent David Brian Jent a daughter Connie Bas kin two sisters Betty Lumm Mary Alexander a brother Harold Standridge and one granddaughter. Burial followed at Forest Park Lawndale.

Student teachers join La Porte ISD programs teaming with colleges
La Porte Independent School District joins forces with Stephen F. Austin University and the University of Houston at Clear Lake City to place student teachers in district schools. UHCLC will place teachers in 15 surrounding districts beginning September 1975, under the district approved training plan. Stephen F. Austin assigns Sharon Jones for the spring semester to work with Charlene Russell at College Park Elementary.

Two Car Collision Injures Deer Park Residents
A February 13 two car crash at X Street and Luella in the evening sent driver Judith Ann Long to a local hospital with an ankle injury. Opel Whideman, of Deer Park, was involved. Miss Long received first aid and was transported. Deer Park volunteers logged five first aid calls that week with three injuries, one accident, and three small fires controlled.

Advanced General Biology pupils from La Porte High School visited NOAA Fisheries Gulf region labs in Galveston to observe commercial shrimp aquaculture research. Cornelius Mock led tours detailing Gulf shrimp life cycles and international cooperation with Argentina and Japan.
