County Discusses Flooding and L Street Improvements
County Commissioner Tom Bass and Flood Control Director Gordon Smith met with Deer Park school personnel to plan drainage changes along a ditch by the high school football fields. A 90 degree bend would be redesigned to 45 degrees, a joint city school county project, requiring moving two practice fields and not funding by the school. Work on L and J would proceed in sections with eight inches of black base and two feet widening, keeping traffic open. Mayor Bill Black cited the Center to Luella section as a top priority due to heavy local use.
