Decree School Bonds Vote Set For Saturday
Voters will decide on a $19 million bond issue for a five year school building program including three new elementary schools and remodeling of the high school north campus. Polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday December 13 with several precincts assigned to specific school polling sites. Absentee voting ended Tuesday at 4 30 p.m. with about 60 ballots cast.

The Deer Park Independent School District proposes a 19 million bond to finish four new schools and North campus renovations, plus 1 million for land purchases and 4.5 million in unsold bonds from 1969. City To Exchange Land With DPISD
The City of Deer Park agrees to swap 9.7 acres adjacent to Durant Street in Spencerview Addition for 9.7 acres owned by DPISD near P Street by Dow Park. DPISD plans a new elementary school to be finished before Sept 1977 to serve nearby children now bused to Deepwater. The city must first offer the land for sale before the exchange.
