San Jacinto College Expands Interior Design Program
The Interior Design Department has grown from a few students in 1968 to about 200 for the spring semester, offering 12 classes and four new courses including Textile Selection and Estimation and Designing Fabrics and Wallhangings. The program supports two ASID approved tracks, one certificate and one AAS, with broad coursework and strong job prospects in retail displays, floral design, and drafting. Ella Parker, department head, calls it an intensified program superior to many four year colleges.
