Mrs P M Jewell Injured In Burr Oak Road Incident
Dr M D Jewell his mother Mrs P M Jewell and three others were in a car when a road cart occupied by two youths broke a colt. The colt jumped onto the car causing a crash that threw Mrs Jewell eight feet down an embankment. She suffered frontal bruising, back strain, a wrist fracture, but is reported to be recovering. The youths fled after the incident.

Four robbers attacked Dr. C. M. Broom of Greene and Miss Louise Brownell of Cedar Rapids as they drove in woods near Clear Lake. Broom’s car stalled in mud while he was forced away. Brownell hid rings in her dress and a roll of bills was left in a hollow tree.
