Dr. Livingston T. Mayes pastor of the Central Baptist Church and a noted Alabama preacher is doing his bit for America by farming ten acres of corn and other crops with his two young sons. He recently served in the United States concilier service and held commissions from President Wilson and King George.
How to buy a $50 Liberty loan bond in installments as set by the government. A $1 deposit is required when the application blank is signed and filed with the Federal Reserve or an authorized agency. June 15 notification on allotment. If not allotted the deposit is returned. Subsequent payments: June 28 $9, July 30 $10, August 15 $15, August 30 the final payment. After the second payment an official certificate is issued and delivery occurs after full payment. Bonds have 350 coupons paying yearly interest on June 15 for 80 years, with possible reduction after 6 years.

Capt Sim McKee aged 58 died Friday morning after living thirty years in the city. The steamboat captain born in Guntersville Alabama had worked on a Decatur to Chattanooga run and retired due to ill health. Remains were sent by steamboat to Guntersville for burial. sister and niece accompanied the body.
Sheriff Foreman says Jim Silas has confessed to the murder of Will Robinson, both described as Negro. He claims the crime arose from drinking and gambling and implicates another Black man in the事件.
