The state of Alabama Morgan County takes notice that Alice Bridgeforth will apply to the governor on or before January 18, 1917 to pardon or parole Robert Bridgeforth Jr and remit the fine for transporting prohibited liquors along the public highway. He was convicted in Morgan County Law and Equity Court on May 28, 1915.
A vintage cough remedy claims to relieve cold symptoms quickly. It emphasizes a soothing pine balsams formula to heal irritated membranes and kill germs while breaking up the cold. Readily available at the druggist for 50 cents.

J W Bailey moves from the K P building to the Bank and Church corner space vacated by A Spielberger's death. Spielberger's dry goods stock sold to a Cincinnati firm and shipped away. Arthur Garnett moves his grocery to Albany. A boiling alley is added on Bank street.
Freeman and Calloway of Hartsell opened a produce store at the Canal and Lee streets corner in Decatur. The new firm promises active trade as both partners are described as hustlers for business.
The regular annual meeting of the stockholders of the North Alabama Building and Loan Association will be held at its office in the Tennessee Valley Bank building in Decatur Alabama January 26 1917 at 11 oclock a m for the purpose of electing a Board of Directors for the ensuing year and transacting such other business as may properly come before said meeting. Beginning January 1 the Western Union Telegraph office in Decatur will operate weekdays from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. This expansion affects how residents transmit messages and access services during the week and on Sundays.
