One Dead Two Decatur Youths Hurt On U S 72
Two Decatur men remained in critical condition at Decatur General Hospital after a two car crash five miles east of here at the Highway 72 Mooresville Road intersection killed 43 year old Marvin A Barksdale Athens. The other car occupants Thomas W Lewis and John W Slaton both of Decatur were severely injured and transported to Decatur General from Athens Limestone Hospital. Funeral services for Barksdale are this afternoon at 3 at his mother in law’s home. He is survived by his wife and several relatives. Witnesses said Barksdale pulled onto Highway 72 after stopping at the Mooresville Road intersection. See ONE On Page 2.
