Morgan County Circuit Court Judge Tom B. Coggin granted probation Friday to Jerry Wayne Swann 18 Vinemont for youthful offender guilty plea with three years probation and to Joe Cal Carter 60 of Decatur for grand larceny theft of a radio with an 18 month suspended sentence. Coggin denied Johnny Ray McLellan 18 of Birmingham a youthful offender petition in a grand larceny case involving a motorcycle and placed his case back on the docket.
Morgan County Circuit Judge R L Hundley declared a mistrial after a civil suit by Priceville landowners Wilma Hutson Burleson and Carol Hutson failed to produce a verdict. The plaintiffs sought 150000 dollars from Huntsville contractor Ashburn and Gray Inc for alleged property damage during Interstate 65 construction.
