Bridge Collapse Kills Four Workers in California
In Pasadena a 100-foot high section of the Foothill Freeway bridge collapsed during concrete pouring. Four workers died, with two more missing and twenty one injured as rescue teams cleared debris under floodlights. Authorities suspect failed support beams caused the failure and the center north span fell into a ravine near Rose Bowl.
