Baskin Robbins Flavor Chief Shapes the Ice Cream Menu
Les Moffitt, director of quality assurance for Baskin Robbins, vets new flavors and vetoes odd names like Tarzan and the Grapes. He oversees 34 monthly flavors from 330 approved options, with 15 new flavors yearly and 31 exotic varieties plus classics in a global chain that posted $85 million in sales last year. The piece notes his playful lab, preference for Rocky Road, and Robbins' trust in his judgment.
