Four Hearts Contract Fails On Faulty Timing
A bridge analysis reviews the 1944 game by Charles H. Goren. North South reach four hearts after a one no trump overcall sequence. West leads diamonds, East overtrumps, and South plans a club ruff to establish dummy’s long club while discarding spades. A heart break worsens with West exiting on the second heart, forcing South to abandon the plan and settle one trick short.
