Train Jumps Track In State Derails Crescent Limited
Five people were slightly injured when the Crescent Limited derailed on Wednesday in a swampy Western Alabama area after a curve. Six cars left the track, sliding upright along the right of way and tearing up about 600 feet of rail. Two wrecking trains and all available workers fought the wreckage into the morning as officials planned to rerail the mainline first and then remove the derailed cars.
