Patrol Rushes Baby To Doctor After Pin In Throat
A four month old Athens infant was rushed to Birmingham after a safety pin became lodged in the esophagus. Dr. A J DuPuy in Athens said the pin was above the stomach and that a Birmingham specialist could remove it with proper equipment. Patrolman O Neal Coleman transported the child around 10 15 AM.

Empty Boat Found But Two Occupants Still Missing
Coast Guard planes searched waves off Seabrook beach for the wife of an insurance executive and an escort after their fishing boat capsized. Mrs. Frederick H. Eckler 48 and James Merrill Herd Jr were missing while two companions were saved. Herd headed a New York firm backing theatrical ventures. The elder Herd driver notified a daughter as his car hit a bridge.
