Fair and colder with frost in north and central portions of the state tonight and a low of 30 to 36. Sunday turns fair and cool with fresh northerly winds along the coast. Herman Lambert a 15 year old Decatur student was injured when a tire rim blew off while he was filling air at Gunn Service Station on Alabama Street. His right leg was broken twice but doctors reported no serious injury and he was discharged the same day.
A Morgan County man Willie Johnson, 24, is jailed on a burglary charge after allegedly stealing a shotgun from another man. Details of the burglary are sparse. Morgan County officers reported no further arrests that night.
Mobile Alabama November 4 News reports no penalty exists for a voter casting a ballot for a Republican or independent candidate in next Tuesday's general election. Democratic Chairman Gessner T. A 12 year old Lawrence county boy Paul Brewington was shot and killed Saturday in a hunting accident near Moulton 2. His 8 year old brother Chester held a .22 rifle when Paul climbed a fence and the weapon discharged. Paul died at Irwin Dyar hospital in Moulton at 515 PM. Surviving are parents Herman and wife, four brothers Herman Leon Etoyle and Chester, and four sisters. Funeral arrangements to be announced.
Birmingham forecast calls for the season’s first freezing weather tomorrow as sleet flurries move through North Alabama today. Weather officials report rain and sleet showers near football crowds in the region amid unsettled conditions.
Republican Harold Stassen charged that Truman era policy coddled Chinese communists and raised Korean War American casualties. He blasted five years of U S policy toward China and Mao Tse-Tung, urged a sweeping Republican Congress, and spoke after Truman's St. Louis speech at a Connecticut rally.
Three persons died and four were injured in a collision between a car and a pickup at the junction of U S highway 80 and Alabama 6 near Selma. Victims were J J Lee 61 and Frankie Marie Lee 10 of Greensboro and Mrs Kenneth Durwood Sorrell of Bessemer. Injured were Durwood Sorrell and Dorothy Jean Sorrell 17 Maud Shaddix 61 and Jesse James Lee driver of the truck. The Sorrell car was said to be south on Alabama 5 when the crash occurred.
Textiles workers union plans wage demands and a benefits package to the industry next spring. TWUA president Emil Rieve spoke at a Huntsville banquet, saying local unions will craft the demands during a December conference in Washington DC.

The Decatur to Arab road project started last week after lengthy negotiations dating to April 1949. The aircraft and three others were on a training mission from Albany base.
White House policeman Pvt. Leslie Coffelt received full military honors at Fort Myer and Arlington cemetery with President Truman in attendance. Investigators widened the probe into the assassination plot as guards remained vigilant. Oscar Collazo faces murder charges despite his wounds as authorities pursue the Puerto Rican nationalist group’s broader agenda.
Ar chie Cowan a 28 year old Negro from Landersville reported to Deputy Neal Fretwell Saturday that a white man in a car shot him in the hip near Fish Branch after Cowan tried to thumb a ride. Cowan described the man and vehicle to Sheriff George Byars who said the assailant fired again as Cowan fled.
