Arrest warrant issued for Mrs Gunn in fatal shooting
A warrant was issued for Mrs W C Gunn of Syla cauga charging the slaying of her husband, a 51 year old filling station operator, on a highway near Choccolocco creek bridge Monday night. The coroner's jury found she fired in self defense after claim of hold up and a pistol from the seat between them was used. A .32 caliber pistol with a discharged cartridge was recovered and tied to the scene along with a blood smeared purse. Investigators said the weapon and purse matched items from a prior robbery at a nearby filling station. Gunn was reportedly carrying $16000 in money. Mrs Gunn said they were en route to Jacksonville for state normal commencement exercises.
