Indiana Harbor Ind May 25 Inland Steel Company the largest independent employer in the Chicago area declined to sign a collective bargaining contract with the steel workers organizing committee after a half hour meeting. Van A Bittner Chicago regional director said the company flatly refused any contract. He did not specify next actions, but two options are a strike or a National Labor Relations Board election to determine majority representation under the Wagner Act.
