Bride Vanishes After Auto Breaks Down Near Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh May 24 AP Word of a missing bride and her car spread as state police and highway patrols searched the mountains east of Pittsburgh. Mrs G Kirk wife of a millionaire condense manufacturer’s son left the auto on the Lincoln highway while her husband went for help. He returned to find both bride and vehicle gone. Police from Wilmerding East M. Keesport and nearby suburbs widened the search amid a persistent effort to locate the couple. Kirk and his bride, Yale graduates, were en route to the Pacific coast after a honeymoon in the east. Their last night was spent in Pittsburgh. Kirk said they had no contacts there. The ignition failed near Wilmerding and Kirk left the bride in the car while he arranged tow service. Also involved were Samuel Wolf Jr an undertaker motor enthusiast and a local garageman who aided in locating the car. State police considered kidnapping a possibility though towing the car would have been necessary. No trace of the bride or vehicle had been found by nightfall.
