Airman Malcolm L. McCreless, USN, of Decatur reports aboard USS Bennington at Long Beach. the carrier recently completed an Operational Readiness Inspection off Southern California. Marine Lance Cpl. Robert L. Jones of Hillsboro 2 serves with the 7th Marines in Vietnam in large scale search and destroy sweeps and civic action projects with Marine Reserve funds aiding wells, culverts, bridges, and schools. Army Pfc. Robert A. Clark, 20, of Athens, arrived in Vietnam April 7 with the 10th Maneuver Battalion of the 9th Infantry Division after training at Ft. Lewis. nicknamed Bearcats, the unit traces its regimental history to the 1917 Siberian Railroad effort and World War II campaigns. Pvt. Alfred A. Rouse, 25, of Athens 8, completed reconnaissance training at Ft. Knox emphasizing jeeps, camouflage, concealment, and weapons handling.
