Bids Open June Nine for New TB Sanatorium
Bids for the new 1.2 million district one tuberculosis sanatorium will be opened at the executive committee meeting led by W. W. Dinsmore at the Morgan County courthouse June 9 at 2 PM. Property of the Morgan county sanatorium has been transferred to district one hospital. A Montgomery Health Department letter approves the transfer, clearing the way for construction.

In Montgomery on May 19 renewed discussion of a special session circulated at the capitol. The Guntersville Advertiser-Gleam reported Folsom suggested filling the fifth district Senate vacancy with a Marshall county appointee after Senator Owens’ death. The next senator for Jackson would remain through courtesy. The legislature reconvenes January 1951 unless the Governor calls back.

Walker County residents injured in Cullman crash
Two Walker County residents were hospitalized in Cullman in serious condition after a Thursday afternoon crash near Brennan. Mr and Mrs W K Crittenden of Jasper and a log truck driver were involved. all suffered multiple contusions and were treated at Cullman hospital.
