Clearing Starts On Worthington Road To Plant Site
Clearing and grubbing began today for a paved road to the Worthington Corporation plant site in a joint city county project. Joe Elliott, supervising, estimates about 45 days to completion for roughly 4,000 feet of 40 foot pavement with curb gutter on 8th street SE from to 21st avenue.

Delta-Chicago Southern plane crashes near Marshall
A Delta Chicago and Southern airliner crashed 13 miles east of Marshall after entering a black storm cloud. Nineteen of twenty aboard died, one woman survivor reported a terrifying rain storm and a water-filled wreck. Civil Aeronautics Board and airline officials opened a full investigation.

Ridgway Urges Aid Continue For European Defense

Accident Victim Still Critical at Jefferson Hillman Hospital
Carlos Dean Tribble twenty one of two men was in Jefferson Hillman hospital this morning unconscious and in critical condition after a Saturday afternoon crash. His 1951 Henry J ran into a field flipped twice struck a telephone pole and bounced onto the road with Tribble thrown twenty five feet. A McConnell Service ambulance carried him with police escort through each town. A nurse said he remained unconscious and critical this morning.

Gun repair, death ruled suicide in Decatur

Senate Delays Final Action On Key Appropriation Bill
