Funeral services were to be held today for C. F. Aderholt aged 32 who was killed in an automobile accident near Anniston yesterday. John Batchelor who was with Aderholt suffered two broken ribs and severe lacerations.
Hiram Williams remained jailed on May 17 in the killing of 40 year old textile worker Hobart Wood in Huntsville. Coroner H C Laughlin said Wood was shot three times with a pistol after an argument over refusing a cigarette that was not union made.
Rotarian Harry Higdon addressed the Decatur Rotary Club on Relations With Competitors. The vocational service committee chaired by Sam W. Brown presented him. William C. Watson spoke on Life Insurance. Guests included Urton Munn and Bruce Spencer. Next week’s meeting will be led by the community service committee chaired by Irwin Mitchell.

Final rites for the infant son of Mr and Mrs Austin Jennings were conducted at Valhermosa at 3 o clock Sunday afternoon. The baby died at home Saturday night. The Rev J H Hill officiated and Drinkard Howell of Hartselle directed burial. The parents survive.
The Decatur area meeting selected Jasper as host for the next year after a sequence of invitations and withdrawals involving Gadsden Florence Sheffield Cordova and finally Jasper. Officers nominated to be elected at the state convention in Gadsden include Harold May Florence area commander Felix Freeman Jasper first district commander Geo Kramer Cullman second district commander and C D Tommie Gadsden third district commander.
In a letter to a senator, Hugo Black states the Senate and Board agreed on another investigation to decide if a veterans hospital should be in Alabama. He says he has not influenced the Board and supports locating the hospital for veterans with the best service. He notes he spoke for Senator Bahkhead at hearings, both sharing the same stance.
