Florence resident Florence E Kennedy of Goodrich Silver town traveled to Florence on business and was expected to return to Decatur on Tuesday.
A petition signed by more than 200 persons was presented to the county board of revenue this week asking that two cents be taken off the present three cent gas tax. The tax funds county road bonds and is blamed for encouraging gas bootlegging and diverting trade to neighboring counties.
