Weather outlook calls for considerable cloudiness this afternoon tonight and Tuesday with scattered thundershowers in east and south areas. Winds moderate and variable. Local notes include visits by Tulsa and Nashville residents and upcoming community activities at Decatur General hospital and VFW meeting.
Troy Alabama May 15 A search resumed for Monroe jail escapee yesterday while the other, Lamar Addison 25, was recaptured by an ABC agent who spotted the pair leaving the jail. Ben Reeves said the Ad oragewense Jailer.
Senator McCarthy accused Secretary of State Acheson of betraying the United States in Asia and urged President Truman to fire him. He called the Far East plan by Owen Lattimore, supported by Philip Jessup, a fraud and said the State Department harbors communists.

In Edmonton Alberta on May 14 Bever ly and Brenda Siamenese twins died shortly after a 42 man surgical team completed separation of their shared flesh. The six months old babies failed to survive the delicate operation that divided their abdominal connections.
Ruth Khama the white queen of the Bamangwato tribe gave birth to a daughter at a Serowe hospital. Her husband Seretse Khama, exiled chief, is allowed to leave for protection at once. The baby were delivered by Dr Moikangoa and both mother and child are reported to be doing well.
A dramatic rescue occurs as a helicopter saves Mrs Jeannette Bugay 25 of Niagara Falls who clung to a rock 73 feet from an island 300 feet above Horseshoe Falls. First craft exploded after plunging occupants, second helicopter arrived to complete the rescue.

A jet fighter spiraled out of control near Aurora Colorado scattering flames across four frame houses. The pilot, a 29-year-old from Estherville Iowa, perished in the crash and a bystander was injured by blast debris. The craft struck the Darling and Horrell residences as flames engulfed the area.

Two U S airmen freed after 18 months in Chinese Communist custody arrived in Manila by plane from Hong Kong. Marine Master Sgt. Elmer C. Bender of Cincinnati and Navy Chief Electrician William C. An 18 month old girl sustained a minor injury when her father's car skidded off a road near Moulton Heights and struck a telephone pole. William Ellis Green, 24, of Charleston Illinois, blamed unfamiliarity with the curve for the mishap. The collision caused about 250 dollars in property damage. The child received first aid at Hamil Clinic and was not admitted. The driver’s wife in the car remained uninjured.

An Air Force sergeant Benny L Wells shot his wife s ex husband Corporal James Ditto then killed himself in his Huntsville Alabama apartment after a nighttime argument over a date. Ditto injured but not seriously. Wells left a death note and a letter to his mother.
