Following recent county rains cotton began to come up in good shape. Weather favorable conditions could bring the chopping season on schedule. Acreage may be slightly lower than last year but the decrease is expected to be negligible and not impact overall production.
Central High School to stage two plays and fashion revue
A Friday evening program at Central High will feature two one act plays by English students and a Home Economics fashion revue. Mrs W J Brown's A Dangerous Experiment and Miss Mary South Lee's The Trysting Place will be presented with interludes by the school band. Four Charged in Slaying of Stanley Holmes
In Augusta Arkansas on May 15 four people Elmer Holmes 35 his wife 25 Tom Rodgers 50 and Lee Coleman 30 were arrested and charged with murder over the death of Stanley Holmes 31 whose charred body was found May 1 beside a highway near Hunter.
