Louisville and Nashville Railroad workers ended a 58 day walkout returning to duty across a 4737 mile system in 14 states. Shootout at Pensacola Telephone Exchange Injures Worker
In Pensacola Florida Cecil Bragg a Southern Bell employee was shot in the stomach by non striker William Harold Slaughter 42 who faced assault with a gun carrying a concealed weapon and failing to register a gun. Picket captain John M Hess was struck and treated for a gash as a disturbance unfolded outside the exchange. Slaughter claimed he fired after Bragg moved toward him following a clash between Hess Battson and Slaughter. The bullet pierced Bragg harming a kidney.
