Officers Moore and MecCall testified in the state case against Clyde Collins Joe Brown and the McCluskeys arising from December thefts of cotton from M. M. Adams Cullman. Collins received three to four years. Brown larceny charges were nolle pressed. the McCluskeys were also nolle pressed on larceny but fined 500 dollars and ordered six months for assault with intent to murder tied to an alleged jailyard attack on a sheriff's son.

Divine Healer Convicted in Slaying of Bernice Clayton
Paul Oakley known as a divine healer was found guilty of murder in Linden Texas for choking 3 year old Bernice Clayton during a prayer for recovery from infantile paralysis. A 50 year prison sentence was imposed by a seven hour jury verdict. An appeal and motion for a new trial were announced. Oakley claimed insanity and said the devil commanded the act.

Burglar Nabbed by Train Ruse At Parkville
James Lewis, a negro, was arrested at Wilhite station on burglary charges after store goods were found on him. Sheriff Davis credited Caudill for a ruse that sent two employees to meet a freight train, where Lewis was spotted with a heavy sack. He admitted the theft and is held in Morgan county jail awaiting a preliminary hearing.
