Robbery Wave Hits Decatur

A string of thefts and break ins troubles Decatur residents. Police officers Verner and Edgeman found an axed door at Milligan's Barbecue on 612 6th Ave NE with $10 to $15 and three cartons of cigarettes stolen. An attempted break in failed at Sinclair service station on 6th Ave and Wilson Ave after glass was broken but the door remained locked. At Pickens and Wright Hardware on 115 Grant St a break in attempt occurred at 8:27 a.m. Friday with a broken east door window and forced entry into the rest room but the store door stayed shut. A bicycle was reported stolen from F. E. Scarbrough's home Friday night.

Stolen Green 1950 Ford Taken From All-Steak Café Cullman

Officers searched for a green 1950 four door Ford stolen Friday night from in front of the All-Steak Café in Cullman. The car owned by Miss Martha Romine of Cullman carried license plate 52 3654 and was taken about 10 30 p.m. The vehicle reportedly includes every auto accessory and has white sidewall tires.
