False Pretense Hearing Set in Montgomery Case
A hearing is scheduled March 27 before a special City Court judge for Montgomery man James T. L. Thaggard accused of falsely obtaining $43,000 from a bank. Thaggard has refused to reveal the money’s location, the bank seeks recovery, and he was jailed for contempt after withholding. The case may move to Circuit Court per Assistant Solicitor Maury Smith. The State Supreme Court ordered Thaggard released on $1,000 bond pending contempt appeal.
