Amsterdam dispatch notes Turkish action against the French in the Dardanelles as German and Austrian forces rush to the Western Front. Reports say Emperor William travels to oversee the westward drive to offset Allied offensives.
Constantinople reports the French battleship Bouvet, built in 1896 and displacing 12 000 tons with 600 crew, was sunk by Dardanelles forts after fleet bombardment and heavy shelling of the forts. No crew status confirmed but most likely rescued by attacking squadron ships.
Crown Prince Repprecht of Bavaria, commander of the Bavarian army in the western theatre, is reported seriously injured by an exploding shell in London dated March 19. The report notes his high rank and role in the war effort.
Constantinople dispatches report Turkish forces captured Korna at the junction of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. The town was defended by British troops.
Representatives from Morgan County High School will debate Limestone County High School tonight at Elkmont as part of a state championship series. Decatur High and Cullman High debate is postponed to next Friday at Cullman with the topic that Woman Suffrage Should be Established by Constitutional Amendment in Alabama. The High School Debating League lists numerous member schools across Alabama including Geneva, Covington, Barbour, Pike, Dale, Coffee, Brewton, Georgiana, Lowndes, Greenville, Cullman, Decatur, Lauderdale, Colbert, Madison, Jackson, Elmore, Clay, Randolph, Handley, Tallapoosa, DeKalb, Calhoun, St Clair, Birmingham, Sumter, Dallas, Marion, and Bessemer.

Constantinople dispatches disappear from reports, with no official word by noon. A land assault is deemed needed to breach 250,000 Turkish troops and coastal batteries.
