Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Hartselle for Luther Coleman Fuller a local merchant who died Saturday afternoon at Benevolent Hospital after several months illness. He was born in 1873 in Etowah county and moved to Morgan in 1880. He married Tommie Springs in 1895 and was survived by his widow seven children three sisters and several daughters in law and a son in law. Pallbearers and flower girls were named.
W C Couch of Decatur Route 2 died at his rural home Sunday morning at 5 30 age 48. He is survived by his widow five sons William Charles Clifford Jasper Solon and five daughters Mary Katherine and two daughters Mrs J E Evans Tulsa Okla Mrs J Lee Barnes St Petersburg Fla Mrs W H Johnson and Mrs J C Hamlett Decatur. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 pm at 306 Line Street conducted by Dr W F Price First Methodist church Huntsville cemetery burial Priest directing. Pallbearers are Sam Foster Howard Tidwell Solon Marandy Charles Hamlett W H Johnson and J R Thomas.
Reverend L. E. Nelson, a Black pastor from Russellville, will preach on the evening of March 20 at St Stephens Primitive Baptist Church located at the corner of Wil and Church. The event is announced in local notices.
Large crowds filled the circuit courtroom as Clarence Worley faced trial for the November 13 slaying of Ross Baber on LaFayette Street. Worley claimed self defense. six witnesses testified before the state rested at noon. Bond was set at 4500 and a jury was impaneled with verdict expected late today.

The eighth district conference of the Alabama department of the American Legion in Decatur drew about 200 Legionnaires from Florence Sheffield Moulton Courtland Decatur Hartselle Cullman Birmingham Montgomery and Gadsden. Roy C. Billings welcomed attendees after invocation by Gilbert White and the Star Spangled Banner by the General Gorgas post band.
Martha Sheehan aged 17 died Sunday at 5 30 pm at her residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 pm at Miss Alice Suckfull home 1210 Fourth avenue south with Rev J D Pickens officiating. Interment in city cemetery directed by Brown Pallbearers listed. She is survived by a niece Mrs Alice Beech of Columbia and a nephew Will Beech of Birmingham and two children Vernon and Lucile Brown who had resided with her since infancy.
Mrs. Ruth Hitch driving a Chevrolet and J. D. Hatton in a Buick collided at Vine and Ferry streets. Hatton was injured. the Buick rolled over twice, struck a tree, and suffered extensive damage. Hitch’s car also damaged with running boards and bumper removed.
