Athens City Purchases Sprinkler to Clean City Streets
Athens buys a new 5600 dollar street sprinkler used to clear mud and dirt from streets alongside gas main installations. Street superintendent B K Russell traveled to Oregon to bring it back last week. The council considers paving petitions in scattered areas but insufficient names may delay summer work. A credential board for natural gas appliance installers is appointed, and the city council reappointed an attorney to the school board, with Mrs Beasley replacing Mrs Coggin who moved out of the city. Board members Roy Thomas W Van Gilbert and John Harlow complete the school panel.
