A Lawrence County committee led by Attorney Eugene Downing traveled to Birmingham to urge the State Highway Commission to build a county seat to county seat highway linking Albany Decatur and Russellville via Moulton. The project would run east to west across Lawrence, aiding agricultural development as roads in the county are often poor. The Lawrence county board of education voted to use part of the county school funds to insure school buildings in line with state requirements, with C C L Judy and W On Bragg overseeing the insurance task.
Twenty seven Alabama companies of the Uniform Bank Woodmen of the World will attend the encampment at Monroe Park Mobile July 10 16 with attendees from Georgia Florida Mississippi. A special Birmingham train will bring 400 men plus the Boys Industrial School band of 60. The camp site lies south of the amusement park between the baseball park and the beach and daily drills are planned ahead of reviews at the grand stand.
