Kiwanis District Governor Reports Alabama Clubs Active
Judge Seybourn H. Lynne of Decatur, Alabama, reported at the Kiwanis International convention that Alabama's 20 Kiwanis clubs are active in community service across urban rural relations, underprivileged children aid, charity, juvenile and educational work, recreation, and civic improvement. The Alabama district meetings will be in Mobile in October and a fellowship dinner was held tonight. A nominating conference for 1938-40 Kiwanis International officers followed the dinner.

Suspect in Custody After Alabama Swamp Chase
In Dothan Alabama on June 28 a posse captured a black man four miles east of Geneva suspected of knifing and robbing a white man. Duncan Sammons Hartford police chief said precautions were taken amid violence talk. The man, identified as Dave Smith, was jailed. A second suspect in the Sunday robbery of Ivy Sammons was pursued but not yet captured.

Two white men and a negro were cited to appear in police court Wednesday morning on charges of fighting Tuesday at the Gulf service station under construction at Se cond avenue and Lee street. Officers J W McCall and W F Parker investigated. The negro claimed were due wages, Turner allegedly threw a brick after being told to leave, and in the fight between Cochrane the foreman and the negro the latter was bruised about the head as a crowd gathered.
