Monsanto Plans Multi-Million Dollar Plant in Marshall County
Monsanto Co will build a multi million dollar textile manufacturing plant in Sand Mountain Marshall County near Guntersville. The 874 acre site lies about 10 miles northwest and 12 miles north of Albertville. The TVA sold 174 acres for 98775 dollars to Monsanto’s Bill Cooper, with plans for substantial investment and many new jobs. Gov. Albert Brewer praised the announcement as the largest Alabama industry this year and credited local officials and agencies for cooperation.
