FBI Agents Implicated In Suspected Kidnaping Case
Two FBI agents allegedly abducted a member of a radical New Left to disrupt antiwar activity. The victim, unaware of the kidnapping, would likely believe his captors were radicals. The operation reportedly lacked formal authorization and may have been solo. The incident fits a pattern of past illicit burglaries tied to a Justice inquiry. Indictments could target about 28 agents or officials, with immunity offered to testify. Gardner in Civil Rights Division oversees the probe.
