Guest Editorial on de Gaulle and Russia in Moscow Parley
The Montgomery Advertiser argues that de Gaulle and Russia seek a world shift diminishing U S influence in Europe. It notes France’s historical ties, fears Russian expansion, and questions whether U S deterrence and Marshall Plan-era support can be sustained, suggesting de Gaulle aims to shift power toward Europe and away from American guidance.
