The jury began deliberations after a day and a half without a verdict in the case against Slate. The State accuses Slate of falsely claiming Roy Wallace, his son in law, worked 190 hours in June 1954 and securing a Board of Revenue check for 102.41. Also reported yesterday two men, William Stewart and Marvin Woods, pleaded guilty to robbery and received 12 and 15 year sentences in the state penitentiary.

Hartselle Burglars Active Again Last Night
Three Hartselle business establishments were burglarized last night with losses totaling between $53 and $63, bringing the week’s break ins to six and overall theft to $163 to $178.
