Three Die In Series Of Birmingham Accidents
Three persons were killed and three more were injured in Birmingham after a storm swept the city. The dead include Mrs. Sam Sorrell of Gnatt's Quarry who was struck by a train near Goodwater. Roy Lee Griffin, four, hit by a truck. and a black boy who drowned in a drainage ditch. Mrs. Sorrell’s body was found on the tracks at Thomas station with severed hand and severe injuries.

Two suits for 100000 were filed this morning in circuit court. The first by R R Easter against City National Bank of Decatur and W W Fussell seeks 50000 for alleged malicious indictment and arrest of Easter on a charge of obtaining money under false pretenses. The second suit, 50000, by Helen J Lyle as administratrix of the estate of S Felton Lyle, against Rev George Boyd claims damages for Lyle’s death after being struck by Boyd’s automobile in Decatur on April 1930.
