Sydney reports the final death in a nested birth event to Mrs. Leonard Brodrick. The 12 ounce boy was the last of nine children born to the former nurse who delivered the world s first recorded nomuplets seven survivors. Premature births and early deaths marked the sequence.

Four year old struck by car in Decatur County
A four year old Danville child remained in fair condition at Decatur General Hospital Saturday night after being hit by a car driven by Bester Simmons of Town Creek. The incident occurred about 4 35 p.m. Saturday on Ironman Road two miles east of Five Points.

Abernathy Calls for Overthrow of Racist Capitalist Society
In Cairo Illinois Rev Ralph David Abernathy of the SCLC urged uprooting a racist capitalist system to create a just country while insisting on nonviolence. He spoke at Black Solidarity Day events with about 1000 at a news conference and 3500 marching downtown in 90 degree heat. He stressed unity with diverse groups and cited ongoing efforts to improve jobs and end poverty despite the provocative remark.

Morgan County Grand Jury last week indicted six people including 48 year old J T McCaghren who was re arrested and held without bond. He is charged with the May 26 pistol slaying of 52 year old James D Moore outside a mobile home on McCaghren property near the Neel Community. Moore had been free on a 7500 dollar bond. Names remain sealed until re arrest.

Folsom Named Deputy Commissioner for Hospital Administration
Dr. James C. Folsom, director of the Veterans Administration Hospital in Tuscaloosa, is named Deputy Commissioner for Hospital Administration of Alabama Mental Health.
