Hospital Administrators Oppose Emergency Bill
Decatur area hospital leaders oppose a state measure requiring nearly all hospitals to provide emergency treatment to anyone at risk of life threatening injury or illness. They argue the bill is broad vague and impractical and would burden staff while duplicating existing regulations. It would mandate 24 hour physician presence and carry fines for noncompliance.
