A chair was burned in the home of Bruce Bazzel at 804 4th Ave SE early today as Decatur fire department reports. Six Morgan County suspects were arrested over the weekend on charges including grand larceny robbery drunkenness and peace proceedings.
United Steelworkers president says joint talks with the Big Three have stalled and returns to negotiating with 11 individual companies. McDonald notes ongoing communication with the Big Three after a stalemate over a five year package wage offer. Present steel wages average about $2.48 per hour for 650000 workers.
A 35 year old Decatur man Edison Noble Johns employed by Wolverine Tube Division of Calumet and Hecla was found dead in his parked car about 112 miles south of the Decatur-Mooresville highway. The coroner ruled death by monoxide gas poisoning. Two men Thornton Jones and Bennie Vernon found and alerted churchgoers at Living Water Presbyterian Church Stan eencede to assist.

Reports of accidental deaths in Alabama over the last weekend of Spring struck a tragically light tone early today. The Highway Patrol said three persons were killed in traffic accidents with one man run over by a freight train and two others drowning.

Nineteen British troops pursuing EOKA rebel leaders in the Troodos Mountains were killed by a forest fire yesterday.
