Acquittal in Conroeling Slaying Trial Strikes After Quick Verdict
In Conroe Texas on June 18 a jury acquitted W S Cochran 41 a plantation owner of a murder charge arising from the shooting of Bob White a Black man who allegedly raped Cochran s wife White was killed at the start of his third rape trial. District Attorney W C McCain urged acquittal noting no man should be allowed to violate a house and ravish a wife and go free.
