Former Gov. George Wallace returns to Wisconsin to gauge presidential sentiment after a strong 1964 showing. He plans a Milwaukee stop Saturday night and a Sunday return to Montgomery aboard a chartered plane.
AP reports Rob ert M. Shelton of Tuscaloosa requests FBI and postal probes into a letter alleging he was dep posed as imperial wizard of United Klans of America. In Tokyo, Radio Hanoi cites Viet Cong threats to execute American prisoners if three Viet Cong patriots are executed by South Vietnam.
Soviet Premier Kosygin will attend the United Nations emergency session called by U Thant to address the Middle East crisis. The meeting starts 9:30 a.m. EDT with high level participation anticipated, including possible appearance by President Johnson. Kosygin will push for U N censure of Israel and troop withdrawals from Egypt Syria and Jordan.
The Reading ETV Center on Bank St. was awarded a 52406 contract to General Constructors Inc. of Decatur for remodeling including air conditioning heating and electrical plumbing updates carpets and other repairs. The board also authorized converting Carver School Church St. into a maintenance shop at about 3300 with a storage shed for district vehicles. New Scott Fi readers for elementary use were adopted pending state board approval to secure funds.
President Johnson and Soviet Premier Kosygin were set to discuss Vietnam peace and the Middle East during Kosygin's United Nations trip. Officials warned a one-on-one could depend on the Arab-Israeli scene and U.N. atmosphere, with limits on damage to U.S.-Soviet ties.
A Decatur resident, 84 year old William S. Tucker of 2003 is killed after being struck by a car Thursday near Orlando while en route to visit a person in Fort Lauderdale. Tucker, a New Orleans native, lived with his daughter Mrs. Frank Guier in Decatur. Further details appear on Page A-2.

Leo Hampton of the Clements community announced Riverside Park a 20 acre recreation project 14 miles west of Athens and half a mile off U S 72 planned for boating roller skating music shows tennis and a large auditorium with a Western town. The development expected to cost thousands of dollars and be completed by spring.
A rash of fires, apparently sparked by gasoline bombs, swept Dayton Ohio, with about 15 fires including a blaze that destroyed five adjoining buildings. Police reported rock throwing and some window smashing and looting as Cincinnati kept quiet under an expanded National Guard presence. Bus service to Dayton's West Side was canceled for public safety.
The Alabama House gave a routine second reading to a bill allowing any city in a dry county to authorize liquor sales with voter approval. If not stalled by filibusters, the measure could be voted on at the next session when the House reconvenes Tuesday. The bill would let city voters decide on alcoholic beverage sales regardless of state restrictions.
State Senator Emmett Oden representing four North Alabama counties including Lawrence introduced a bill on Thursday seeking a statewide referendum on banning liquor sales in Alabama.

Decatur city school Head Start program led by Supt. H. R. Leeman reports a new enrollment record with 222 students enrolled this year, exceeding the original 180 cap as the eight week session begins. In 1965 about 216 joined. last year declined. City school board requested $57,694 from federal sources.
