Promising new melanoma blood test reported by immunologist

Dr. Nadeem M. Munn of the University of Utah announced a blood test for melanoma that could replace biopsy. The test, said to diagnose melanoma in 17 patients over the past year, requires under an hour and could be done in a physician's office. It detects a melanoma antigen whose exact nature is unknown.

Senate passes 28 bills including car pool permanence

The Alabama Senate approved 28 bills on a priority calendar including making the car pool created by the governor permanent under state law. Debate over the consumer credit code bill was postponed at least 10 days.
