Diploma Came Late But His Ride Was One Of Happiest
Raul Clark finally received his high school diploma at Albert G. Parrish High School in Selma at age 24 after a polio battle that delayed his schooling. He completed eight years of study in 12, with help from the Alabama Rehabilitation Service and a part time job at Alabama Power. Clark plans college or trade school after rehabilitation in Mobile. Principal Clyde Walker called him an inspiration admired by faculty and peers, noting he was elected mayor for a city youth day.
