Steinmetz Sentenced in Slaying Case
Joseph Leib Steinmetz a 22 year old Bible student was sentenced to eight to 16 years by General Sessions Judge Charles Nott for manslaughter in the killing of his bride after finding her partially dressed in a drunk priest’s room. He was not tried for the priest's death and the state will not pursue that charge.
