George W. Gilley, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Gilley of 1009 Ferry street, died after a truck he drove overturned on a gravel detour near Leighton. James King of Decatur witnessed the incident. Funeral services set for 4 PM at the family home with Rev. W. F. Price officiating. Interment at Decatur. Brown’s ambulance assisted.
Chief Riggsbee and Officer Brazelton report the burglary of the Rex Finley home. Walker alias Two Story and Willie Hall alias Chicken are in county jail after admitting the theft of clothing and jewelry worth about 500 dollars, with most loot recovered. Hill was earlier arrested on the same case after a fountain pen bearing Finley’s name was found. he arrived from Kilby prison 19 days before the burglary.
Boston June 13 report says Massachusetts appears set to join 10 prior states in backing repeal. Analysts expect about 45 delegates pledged to repeal with strong momentum from reform spokesmen despite scattered opposition.

Surviving relatives include Leeths wife and son J B Jr and Stoeckers wife and children Jake and George in California and Mrs Buettner and Mrs Werner in Cullman.
Miss Peggy Wiggins pupil of Mrs. 8. T. Rollo will perform in a piano recital assisted by reader Miss Julia Bingham at the Central Methodist church annex Wednesday afternoon at 4:00. The public is cordially invited.
In Birmingham Alabama on June 13 a 45 year old woman Mrs Florence Jones was found dead from a bullet wound to the heart after three shots were fired from the home at her 55 year old husband. He a retired fire department captain was wounded in the left shoulder and said his wife had been ill. Court records show the divorce suit was pending. The coroner ruled death by self inflicted act.
The Tennessee river remained stationary today with a gauge reading of four feet at seven o'clock, indicating no immediate change in flood risk or river conditions.
Senate banking committee to open investigations into Kuhn, Loeb and Company and Dillon Read and Company on June 26. Hearings will continue this month and include Chase National, with Morgan inquiry to resume in fall.

Mrs Mary Puckett age 88 died at Benevolent Hospital this morning at 12 30. She is survived by husband H L Puckett four sons Leonard Albert Walter and Roland two daughters Juanita and Lorine.
